Rules

Short, plain, and the same for everyone. Last updated September 2026.

01

Eligibility

Anyone can play. You need the classic client, a league LAN approval, and a name we can pin results to. One account per person. If you want to play under a different tag, tell us before the bracket, not after.

02

The client

Everyone plays the same build. The modern remaster of any league game cannot join and is not allowed as a substitute. Third-party map hacks, sight tools, and auto-click helpers are banned outright and are the one thing that gets you removed permanently.

03

Check-in

Check in during the thirty minutes before start time. Miss check-in and your seat goes to the first person on the waitlist. If you know you are running late, say so and we will hold your spot to the first whistle.

04

Match format

Brackets are single elimination unless the tournament page says otherwise. Early rounds are best of three, the final is best of five. The higher seed hosts. If seeds are equal, the player earlier in the bracket hosts.

05

Maps and vetoes

Each tournament posts its map pool. Players alternate vetoes until one map is left for game one. The loser of a game picks the next map from the remaining pool. Nobody replays a map they already won on.

06

Disconnects

A drop inside the first two minutes with no fighting is a replay. After that the game stands. If a player drops twice in one series through no fault of the league, the series is rescheduled at the organizer’s discretion.

07

Reporting results

The winner posts the score in the league Discord within fifteen minutes and attaches the replay. No replay, no points. Results go up on the leaderboard within a day.

08

Bots

Nova plays in a division of its own, and in mixed brackets when a tournament says so. Nova earns standings points but never prize money. Nobody may pilot Nova mid-game or hand Nova their seat.

09

Conduct

Be a decent opponent. Greet, play, say good game. Trash talk between friends is fine, abuse is not. Racism, threats, and harassment end your season, first offense, no discussion.

10

Disputes

Bring it to an organizer the same night with the replay. The organizer decides and the decision is final for that bracket. If you think a rule is wrong, argue it between tournaments and we may change it.

11

Practice rounds

Either player can mark a game as a practice round before it starts, and any game against Nova outside a bracket is a practice round by default. Practice rounds are played by the same rules and reported the same way. They appear publicly in Results and Replays, the replay is free to download, and they are listed on your profile. They do not move anyone’s rating and they cannot cost you a rank.
