Why it is not live yet
Three honest reasons, none of them about money.
We run one game properly
StarCraft is live because it is finished: the client, the bots, the ladder, the replays, the ranks. A second game gets the same treatment or it does not get opened at all.
Nobody here plays it yet
The honest version. The founder plays StarCraft. This game needs its own regulars and probably its own host. If that could be you, say so when you add your name.
Demand sets the order
Every game waiting on this site is on the same footing. Whichever list fills first is the one that opens first. There is no secret roadmap and no favorite.
What happens when it opens
- 01 The client and the maps One build everyone runs, so nobody loses a game to a version mismatch. The map pool is voted on by the people actually playing it.
- 02 The first cup An open bracket, free to enter, replays required. Two weeks of notice so you can clear a Saturday.
- 03 The ladder Ten placement games, then the same rating math and the same ranks, D through A, that StarCraft already uses.
